Google unveiled a $1,000 tablet prototype equipped with 3D-sensors and a motion-tracking camera.
This tablet with 7-inch, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage will come equipped with multiple cameras, including one with motion-tracking capabilities, and a depth sensor. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and will be powered by NVIDIA's latest Tegra K1 processor.
The goal of Project Tango is to give mobile devices a human-scale understanding of space and motion.
Project Tango devices contain customized hardware and software designed to track the full 3D motion of the device, while simultaneously creating a map of the environment. These sensors allow the device to make over a quarter million 3D measurements every second, updating its position and orientation in real-time.
